Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you see? / What types of clients do you work with?

I work with primarily with adults in individual therapy, providing couples and family sessions as needed to compliment individual work. I provide both private sessions and group therapy.

How long does therapy take?

It’s difficult to make a blanket statement of what the length of therapy will be – everyone coming to therapy has different goals and challenges, and so treatment length varies from person to person. I typically suggest investing 4-6 sessions and then collectively we can evaluate your goals and challenges and set out a clearer treatment plan. Some folks may come in once or twice a month for several months, while others may come in once or twice a week.

What kind of therapist do I need?

Your therapist should be someone who makes you feel understood, who has some expertise in addressing the challenges you face, and who you trust to help you achieve your goals. Not every therapist is right for any one person, so paying attention to how therapy feels and bringing up any concerns about the relationship is essential in making sure it’s a good fit.

What if I cannot make it to a session?

Sessions can be rescheduled or cancelled at least 24 hours in advance in order to avoid paying the full session fee for a missed appointment.
